Free touch typing course
This free touch typing course teaches you to type without looking at the keyboard. You start with the whole home row (A S D F G H J K L ;), then add keys in pairs typed by the same finger on each hand, until you can type every letter, capital and punctuation mark with the right finger. It suits beginners, kids and adults, and each lesson takes about ten minutes.

How each lesson works
Every lesson goes from single keys to words, sentences and a short exam, and only uses keys you have already learned. The on-screen keyboard lights up the next key, animated hands show which finger presses it, and you earn up to three stars per exercise for accuracy.
How long does it take to learn touch typing?
Most people learn all the letter keys in two to four weeks with 10 to 20 minutes of typing practice a day. Your speed keeps growing for months after that.
What are the home row keys?
A, S, D and F for the left hand and J, K, L and ; for the right hand. The small bumps on F and J let you find the home row without looking.
Is this typing course free?
Yes. Every lesson, typing test and typing game is free, and you don't need an account. An account only keeps your progress in sync between devices.
Can kids learn to type with TypingStreak?
